Alere

Terms of Use

Last updated October 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Aleksandr Antonov, the individual who operates Alere ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Alere.

Alere is not medical advice. It is a tool for logging food, weight and workouts and for general fitness and nutrition information. Calorie, protein and carbohydrate targets, workout plans and coach messages are estimates calculated by formulas and generated in part by AI. They are not a diagnosis, treatment or a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional. Talk to one before changing your diet or exercise — especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have or have had an eating disorder, diabetes, heart, kidney or other medical conditions, or take medication. Stop exercising and seek help if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Who can use Alere

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account. Give accurate information — your targets are calculated from it.

Your content

What you log, write and upload remains yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it, and to send it to our service providers as described in the Privacy Policy, only to operate and improve Alere for you. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful.

AI-generated content

Coach messages, workout suggestions and meal-photo estimates are produced with the help of an AI model. They can be wrong. Check estimates before saving them, and use your own judgment. Every number Alere shows from your data is editable.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no attempts to access other people's data, to disrupt or overload the service, to reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, or to use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Features, plans and changes

Some features may be limited to certain plans or accounts. We may add, change or remove features, and may discontinue the service; if we discontinue it, we will give reasonable notice where we can so you can request a copy of your data.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete Account. See the account deletion page for what is removed.

Disclaimers

Alere is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not guarantee any result, including weight change or fitness outcomes, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, health outcomes or injury arising from following information in the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to Alere is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Alere in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Apple App Store

If you downloaded Alere from Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Alere or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for Alere; if Alere fails to conform to an applicable warranty you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (if any). Apple is not responsible for claims relating to Alere, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them there instead.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and for material changes we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Alere after a change means you accept it.
